Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)1 is a brain-based medical condition.

The symptoms of ADHD can occur 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and can interfere with different aspects of your life, including school, work, and social life.

  • ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is “characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity/impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development.”2
  • There are three types of ADHD

Inattentive (mostly inattentive symptoms)

Hyperactive-impulsive (mostly hyperactivity/
impulsivity symptoms)

Combined (both inattentive and hyperactivity/
impulsivity symptoms).
